During the renovation of a modern villa, this chic and timeless vanity unit for a guest WC was created. Despite the massive marbling of the natural stone, there is a calm ambience due to the silky white tones.
The almost milky white Statuario marble belongs, along with Calacatta and Arabescato, to the noble varieties of Carrara marble. The WOW in the material name stands for “Whitest of White”. It is characterized by the very clean and bright base grain, enlivened by extravagant veining in even shades of gray. These can be spider-webbed or calmly curved, like the specimen from this project. Although the luxurious natural stone belongs to the Carrara types, it is priced much higher due to its pure and clear presentation. Another advantage to the classic Carrara is the very low, to virtually non-existent, iron content in the marble. The dark veins get their color from the graphite in the marble and can therefore not lead to rust stains.
The simple ceramic washbasin pedestal and the chrome noble faucet from Dornbracht offers the wall covering the necessary space to visually unfold. The minimalist mirror was flush-fitted with marble. The large-format floor tiles and wall coverings were made in mirror cut, so that the grain creates a unique image. The soap and towel rack was also cut in continuous veining.
