Bathroom renovation with marbled large format ceramics

This bathroom renovation focused on the use of large format ceramic tiles. The large format ceramic tiles were cut to size and installed to create an impressive appearance. Especially on the wall of the shower and toilet, the extravagant marble look of the ceramic tiles comes into play. The combination of light and dark nuances gives the bathroom a luxurious atmosphere and creates an eye-catcher that immediately catches the eye.

Clear room separation through glass

Another highlight of this bathroom renovation is the clear separation of space through the use of glass. The shower and WC were each placed in their own glass enclosure with black frames on one side of the wall. This transparent separation allows moisture and odors to be effectively contained, while still creating an open and spacious atmosphere in the bathroom. The glass gives the room a modern and elegant flair and allows light to flow unhindered through the room.

Easy care shower

An important consideration in the bathroom renovation was the selection of easy-to-clean materials. The shower was designed with a black flooring with a coarse surface texture, which is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also easy to clean and non-slip. The large-format ceramic tiles on the walls of the shower are also easy to clean and effectively keep out moisture and dirt. Thanks to this thoughtful choice of materials, cleaning and maintaining the shower will be a breeze.

Washbasin made to measure

True to the color of the floor and wall covering, a washstand was made entirely according to the customer’s wishes. The custom ceramic vanity is not only a statement piece of the design bathroom, but also a highly functional element in the bathroom that will provide pleasure for many years.

Defined spatial planning

Each area in the bathroom is focused on a specific function and carefully placed to create a clear and simple structure. The washbasin defines itself as the center on the wall, while the shower and the toilet are arranged in “cubicles” on the sides. The flooring is also made of Limestone Persiano and creates a unified base for the space.

Shower

A niche in the shower is a great way to create additional storage space. The niche can accommodate shampoos, soaps and other care products without interfering. This means more space and showering comfort for the user.

The discreet bench in the shower is easy to clean due to its floating design and provides further relaxation, or safety in case of limited mobility, during washing.

In this unique bathroom project, we provided the customer with the complete bathroom builder package: conceptualization of the room design, composition of the sanitary equipment, material selection. Photorealistic rendering, digital measurement and production plan for all trades, cutting and installation.

Bookmatched marble

The Iranian limestone Limestone Persiano / Gohare and the Turkish marble Silver Roots / Mystic Grey were used.

The harmonious combination of the two natural stones culminates with the walnut elements in a timeless color design with feel-good factor.

The grey-brown marble was manufactured in customized large formats and in a structural cut. The block, which was specially selected for this order in Italy, was photorealistically presented to the customer in various veinings before the project was implemented and processed accordingly according to the customer’s wishes.

Details make Design

The walnut trellis beams serve as a minimal privacy screen and also give the room a separating structure or greater sense of space.

Two shower niches were integrated into the Silver Roots shower wall paneling and captivate with a continuous veining pattern.

Wall panels and flooring are cut to size in large formats so that the few joints always relate to room objects.

Comfort shower with BAQUA drain

In addition to large-format floor tiles on an electric floor heating system, a shower platform based on a Baqua channel was used. Thanks to the Baqua system, a perimeter shower channel with a high sealing standard can be realized. The innovative channel system was made to measure and according to the requirements of the bathroom design. For example, the glass panels stand directly in a specially milled rebate on the channel.

All drains were clad with discreet revisible elements.

Custom made washbasin

The washbasin was made in a solid look entirely according to the customer’s wishes. Next to the two separate washbasins, a discreet socket was integrated on the side. The supporting wall cabinet with recessed Led light offers enough space for all sanitary items and towels, so that no additional furniture unnecessarily fills the room. The walnut wood nestles seamlessly into the overall concept with its striking veins.

All bathroom fixtures are from GESSI and come from the Rilievo line. The champagne-colored Finox surface blends seamlessly into the overall picture.

Individual room concept

The greatest difficulty in the planning was the existing roof slopes on 2 sides. The existing dormer also significantly restricted the position of the shower. After several digitally developed room concepts quickly crystallized existing project that transforms the actually quite squat room into an open feel-good bathroom. The natural stone bathroom offers generous space with the spacious shower and the two-person bathtub positioned in the sloping roof.

Photorealistic rendering

To support the imagination of how the planned bathroom will look, a 3D rendering was made in advance based on the pre-selected marble block. This allowed the customer to get a feel for the finished space and, along the way, realistically demonstrate several veining suggestions.

As a visiting card of the house, the guest toilet usually plays an underestimated role. In the design of this realized project, particular emphasis was placed on a homely and natural ambience. The light basic tones make the – usually small – guest toilet room appear open and large.

Natural stone washbasin

A custom stone washbasin made of Limestone Persiano sits atop the free-hanging wooden vanity. The easy-care solid sink made of beige limestone rises slightly above the cabinet and, together with the other organic shapes, provides a fitting contrast to the high and cubic body of the room. The washbasin of the guest toilet was combined with a black faucet from GESSI.

Wall cladding

The marble wall cladding from the Spanish Paradiso Brown was manufactured on 3 sides of the WC in large-format panels and in the structural cut/mirror cut. The beige-brown breccia is characterized by its turbulent dissected veining pattern with larger sprinkles that will always present new facets to the viewer even after a long time.

This master bath in clear contemporary design inspires by the ideal handling of noble veneer wood and easy-care quartz material. The quartz stone was processed in large-format panels (approx. 2.7*1.5 m) and makes the floors and walls look as if they were made of one piece. In addition to niches on the bathtub and shower, a door was also clad in stone.

Material

2 different quartz composites from Compac were used, the homogeneous white Glaciar and the veined Ice White.

Most of the elements were made in solid look (mitered glued with continuous veining). The free-hanging vanity includes 2 sinks with hidden drains designed specifically for this project.

Compac ICE WHITE

Inspired by large ice lakes found in the Arctic, the design of Compac Ice White was created. The exclusive quartz stone is part of the Compac Ice of Genesis line, created by the design studio from Arik Levy

Designing small and compact bathrooms has many dangers. In addition to a sensible division of space, the choice of colors and shapes is also immensely important. This sympathetic bathroom with its bright walls, rounded but at the same time clear object shapes and a contrasting floor shows how small/compact spaces can become open spheres of life.

Material

Serpentine Rainforest Gold was chosen as the floor covering. The extravagant natural stone with an ocher base tone is crisscrossed by reddish lifelines, which can even be felt as such thanks to the “leathered” surface finish. The white bathtub clearly stands out due to the contrast and seems almost floating. Large-format wall panels made of homogeneous Limestone Persiano limestone enlarge the space with their light hue and are also the visually supporting element in the bathroom.

Cut to size

Completely according to the customer’s wishes, an individual washbasin was designed and milled from a solid block.

The spherical ambience of this noble bathroom is the result of the unique use of the exclusive Calacatta marble. The snow-white marble with the delicate veins that run through the material like ink strokes, covers a large part of the walls, the bathtub and the entire floor.

Spa-Comfort

The Rain SKY system from Dornbracht ensures the highest possible spa comfort in the spacious shower. Even more relaxation and well-being are provided by the full-surface floor and wall heaters, which warm the natural stone to pleasant temperatures. The marble in custom large sizes is reflected 32 times in the textural cut on the wall alone, creating a quasi-continuous grain throughout the room and elegant veining diamonds.

The illuminated shower niches offer ample space for soaps or bathroom accessories and, thanks to the continuous grain, appear to be of one piece with the wall panels.

Unique bathroomdesign

The magical appearance of the marble is especially set off by the clear shape of the bathroom elements and the noble accessories, such as the seemingly floating mirror. The dark bathroom cabinets by De Coene also let the Calacatta marble take the visual lead.

Dream bathroom as desired

The implementation of this bathroom included detailed preliminary planning and project support as well as a joint trip (with the client and architect) to Italy to select the desired marble block.

As part of a comprehensive renovation of a mansion was created this unique bathroom project. The bathroom acquires clear structures through its modular center, which combines shower, cabinet, tub and washstand. The timeless charm of the oasis of well-being is provided by the combination of wood and the hard stone Breccia Imperiale.

Breccia Imperiale

The dark brown hard rock, which is usually included in the group of quartzites, is a cataclasite. Due to its origin, the fault zone rock has a fine veining, which is sometimes interspersed with white lime veins. The decorative natural stone is very durable and ideal for high-traffic areas, such as kitchens, bathrooms and showers.

The large-format floor tiles and wall coverings were manufactured in mirror cut, so that the grain gives a unique image.

Natural stone shower

The floor-level shower, clad all around in natural stone, is an absolute eye-catcher thanks to the large-format shower wall panels and the few joints, and is also very easy to clean. The largely closed structure of the natural stone shower proves to be a comfortable retreat and intimate relaxation zone.

The “back-to-nature” feeling, or the general longing for wilderness, is satisfied by the look of the forest-colored Breccia Imperiale and the solid feel of the “leathered” surface.

Customized

Bathtub cladding and washbasin were individually planned and cut to size. However, due to the lack of stability of the material, the great art was in the assembly. Although the hard stone Breccia Imperiale is a very hard and chemically robust rock, it is also very fragile due to its formation! Once the natural stone is installed, this risk is virtually a thing of the past.

Details

The stone-clad bathtub forms the center of the room and divides the bathroom into a clear structure. The large-format floor and wall tiles are not only easy to clean, they also enhance the calm and warm aura of natural stone on the private spa.

The noble Dornbracht fittings in chrome confirm the modern bathroom design and the linear architectural style.
